The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment disputes charges made by telemedicine vendor EMed that it has not yet paid the company for its services. The department had contracted with EMed in February to provide virtual consults and test results to select residents who took the state’s free BinaxNow rapid COVID test.

Google Health offers a preview of the Web-based, AI-powered, dermatology assist tool it plans to pilot later this year. The tool digests images and data captured via a user’s smartphone and then offers the most likely matching conditions a user may want to research further. The tool will also offer dermatologist-reviewed information, answers to commonly asked questions, and similar matching images from the Web.

Google Assistant gives users the most accurate information when it comes to using interactive voice technology for information on brand-name and generic medications, according to new research from Klick Health.

A survey of 250 patients conducted in March has found that text messaging between patients and providers increased 14% year-over-year. Nearly half say texting is now their preferred method of healthcare communication. Over 33% would be willing to switch providers who offer more modern communication methods.
