CityMD, a VillageMD-owned chain of 117 urgent care practices in New York and New Jersey, will pay federal authorities $12 million to settle allegations that the company submitted false and/or inaccurate payment claims for a HRSA-funded COVID testing program for uninsured patients. CityMD apparently did not perform its due diligence in confirming whether or not patients were in fact insured at the time of testing.
