CVS Health’s Accountable Care business sells its Medicare Shared Savings Program unit to Wellvana and lays off 183 employees. Wellvana, which specializes in primary care network management, has raised $140 million since launching in 2018.
Walgreens inches closer to a take-private deal with Sycamore Partners, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sources say the $10 billion deal could come together as soon as tomorrow. Sycamore has said it will probably retain the company’s US-based retail pharmacy business, though it may sell or go public with other segments. The valuation of Walgreens has dropped from $100 billion 10 years ago to $8 billion as of late last year.
