TriZetto Provider Solutions begins notifying patients impacted by a breach of its web portal containing eligibility transaction reports. Hackers first gained access in November 2024. The breach was discovered last October. Affected providers were notified in December by OCHIN, which provides their EHR software and utilizes TriZetto’s billing services. Adapt Integrated Health Care (OR), San Francisco Community Health Center, and the Baltimore City Health Department are among the impacted organizations.
The New York Times looks at the creative ways independent physicians and other medical professionals are finding practice space that meets their budgets and schedules. Whether it’s subleasing space from other physicians, renting weekend space in a practice that’s only open during the week, or making other, hybrid arrangements, clinicians are engaging in off-market arrangements that don’t burden them with high overhead. Psychotherapist Carla Mannino, who rents co-working space in New York City’s Chrysler Building, puts it this way: “I don’t have to worry about HVAC or Verizon. I’m 58 years old. I don’t want to sign a 10-year lease.”

Walmart’s Healthcare Research Institute and Care Access will open research sites this spring in three former Walmart Health clinic locations and one Walmart store. Care Access staff will offer health screenings and information about research opportunities and participation in clinical trials. Walgreens launched its own clinical trials business in 2022. CVS Health launched a similar endeavor in 2021, but commenced a phased closure two years later.
