Cognitive rehab program startup Moneta Health raises $4.5 million in seed funding. The company offers phone-based sessions with licensed therapists and cognitive exercises in between sessions delivered via AI over the phone. Moneta Health’s roots date back to 2020, when co-founder Paul Campbell launched Elovee, a tech-enabled dementia therapy platform. Campbell and Moneta Health co-founder Jen Flexman rebranded Elovee to Moneta in 2023.

A six-month study involving patients at three primary care practices finds that patients who complete a pre-visit family history questionnaire that is automatically uploaded to their EHR results in improved documentation and subsequent conversations about recommended screenings and referrals.

An AdvancedMD survey of 200 medical group owners and staff finds that 67% have at least one mental health professional on staff, and that 58% use telehealth to support their mental healthcare services. Nearly 40% of respondents receive requests for mental telehealth appointments on a daily basis.

House-call provider DispatchHealth lays off employees, stops offering services in Little Rock, AR and scales back services in nine other markets as it reorganizes after acquiring hospital-at-home software and services company Medically Home earlier this year. The company has raised over $700 million since getting its start in 2013.

Florida Woman Care co-founder and former employee-turned-whistleblower Kenneth Konsker, MD notifies state officials and insurers of alleged upcoding that he says has padded the pockets of the practice’s private equity owners and left patients with inaccurate bills, amounting to $100 million in improper billing. The Florida attorney general’s office is investigating.
