MGMA calls on ONC to pull back on its proposed financial penalties for providers found guilty of information-blocking. The trade association suggests that physician practices would face undue financial and administrative burdens if faced with such disincentives – both of which would hamper interoperability and value-based care efforts. MGMA hopes that the final rule will take a more educational approach, using corrective action programs to promote the sharing of information.
