Canadian provider and health IT company Well Health Technologies reports a 19% increase in annual revenue, despite revenue deferral from its Circle Medical business and negative revenue cycle impacts from the Change Healthcare cyberattack in February of last year.

The company notes in its earnings report that it paid $2.8 million to settle federal US allegations of improper Circle Medical Technologies billing practices. Well Health is now looking at strategic alternatives for the California-based virtual primary care clinic.

Well Health acquired a controlling stake in Healwell AI earlier this month, concurrent with Healwell’s acquisition of Orion Health.

Two providers in Minnesota file preliminary injunctions to stop UnitedHealth Group’s Optum division from collecting on emergency loans given out to the providers in the aftermath of the cyberattack on UnitedHealth’s Change Healthcare business. The providers say they can’t make good on the loans because they haven’t yet fully recovered from revenue cycle disruptions caused by the attack. Adding insult to injury is the fact that UnitedHealthcare Insurance Co. has denied $18,000 in claims due to their untimeliness – a fact the providers say was caused by the cyberattack. Optum, which extended the repayment deadline from January to May, is seeking to dismiss the lawsuits.
